How to Remove Factory Slip-On Exhaust 

Triumph Scrambler 1200 (2019+)

The how-to guide is proved for information purposes only.   The guide assumes you have general mechanical knowledge and have the ability to remove and replace components on your motorcycle.  If you have any questions or are not comfortable doing the work contact a professional mechanic. Keep all stock parts from your existing system as some components may be necessary to install your new British Customs Products depending on the application. 

Read through the guide prior to beginning to remove any components.  Always properly support the vehicle with a stand and/or lift when servicing or performing any work. Unstable vehicles my present dangerous conditions and may cause property damage and/or personal injury

Step By Step Guide - How to Remove the Factory Slip-On Exhaust

1. Remove the Seat

2. Using an M5 Allen remove the (2) bolts that secure the rear heat shield to the factory slip-on exhaust.  

3. Using a __mm Allen remove the (1) fastener that secures heat shield bracket.  Pull the heat shield toward the rear of the bike to remove, save the two rubber grommets.

4. Using an M5 Allen remove the (2) bolts that secure the center heat shield to the factory slip-on exhaust

5. Using an M5 Allen loosen the top exhaust clamp

Note the position of the exhaust clamps prior to releasing them.   Return them to the same position during installation

6. Using an M5 Allen loosen the bottom exhaust clamp

7. Using an M12 Socket remove the bottom (1) bolt and (1) washer that secures the exhaust to the frame. Located on the underside of the fender.   

8. Using an M12 Socket remove the upper (1) bolt and (1) washer that secures the exhaust to the frame.  Located directly in front of the right-hand shock absorber.  

Note: Support the exhaust during removal 

9. Using a 12m socket remove (1) Fastener (2) rubber bushings and (1) shouldered washer. Note the position of the shouldered washer for installation.   

10. Remove the Factory exhaust by pulling the factory exhaust towards the rear of the bike.  Save the components, they may be needed for installation.
