We've fitted these flush mount gas caps on numerous Bonneville models (as you've listed) and once it's screwed on and pressed in, it's pretty flush. Maybe a slight rise just like how it's shown in the photos of this product page. Send us a photo on support@british-customs.com just so that we can make sure nothing's wrong.

Great look and fit for my ‘05 Bonneville
Flush mount cap fits perfectly and has a really smooth, minimalist look. It’s also flat enough to allow my magnetic tank bag to sit evenly on the tank with out looking jacked up over the fuel cap. The spring loaded center piece locks and unlocks easily to allow the cap to be removed and tightened with no concerns. Highly recommended piece.
