Swapping your mirrors to a low profile bar end set up is a common upgrade but the various options and adapters required to perform the install can be confusing. To simplify the process we have assembled a kit that includes everything needed to install this upgrade. This kit is configurable to suit your objectives and budget.
The mirrors included in this kit are from Motogadget's METALMIRROR line of glassless mirrors. These are CNC machined from billet aluminum using an elaborate fly-cutting process with diamond cutting tools that produces a convex mirror surface directly out of solid aluminum. A plasma coating is then applied to make the mirrors absolutely resistant to scratches, corrosion, and oxidation. We have tested these mirrors extensively and found them to be of the highest quality and practical usability. The mirrors are stable and easily adjusted, enabling excellent visibility while enhancing the look of the bike.
Low Profile vs. Weighted Bar Ends
Your Triumph should come with factory bar ends. These should be removed in order to clamp mirrors onto the end of the handlebar. Once removed, you can use the space left behind to clamp the mirrors. However, this will leave the end of the bar exposed. To address this, we have designed two different options.
Option 1: The Low Profile Bar End is extremely thin and light (0.05lbs). They are CNC machined from billet aluminum and anodized black.
Option 2: The Weighted Bar End features a brushed stainless steel construction and weighs 0.25lbs. The additional weight helps to stabilize the handlebars.
Mirror Hole Caps vs. Control Clamps
After removing the factory mirrors, a threaded hole will be left behind on your factory control clamps. To address this, this kit offers solutions. The Motogadget Spy Mirror Kit for 1” handlebars comes with our Mirror Hole Caps. For ⅞” handlebars, there are two options:
Option 1: Screw in Mirror Hole Caps are a simple solution to this problem. They simply screw into the mirror hole to finish the clamps. This is a good solution if you would like to keep the bike as close as possible to the factory.
Option 2: Our Control Clamps completely replace the factory clamps and do not feature a threaded hole at all. This is the best upgrade in terms of creating a clean and custom finish.
