 January Shop Update

It's a new year filled with new adventures and epic rides. At British Customs, we're dedicated to elevating your motorcycle journey.

We're excited to introduce our new series, giving you a behind-the-scenes look at the latest builds and parts emerging from the British Customs shop. Each update is your chance to explore new customization possibilities for your bike and gain insights into our creative process.

So, let's dive into what January has in store.

From Street Twin Tracker to Café Racer

Remember the 2016 Street Scrambler? We're transforming our Street Twin Scrambler into a café racer; here’s a sneak peek at the parts we selected.

Thruxton R Fairing: The Triumph Street Twin's neck has the same mounting bracket found on the Triumph Thruxton 1200, R, and RS. With a Thruxton R fairing on hand in our shop, we found that mounting it to the Street Twin required only a few brackets. The fairing bolted up with minimal adjustment.

Woodcraft Clip-Ons: To fit the fairing and achieve the classic Cafe Racer stance, we opted for Woodcraft clip-ons. We had to change the cables to accommodate the clip-ons and are currently developing a handlebar kit for the Street Twin and Speed Twin 900.

2-2 Drag Pipe Exhaust: We're currently testing the 2-2 Drag Pipes – take a look at the video at 3:35 to hear its impressive sound. However, we're contemplating a switch back to the Predator Pro for a more classic aesthetic.

Number Plate Side Covers: We are in the final stages of completing the redesign of the number plates. These new, modular number plates will serve as the foundation for a new line of parts. They are customizable, allowing you to add a personal touch to your Triumph.

What's Next for This Café Racer?

Next, we plan to develop a cafe racer seat, upgrade the suspension, and possibly update the wheels to spokes.

Craigslist to Showstopper

Next up is a 2011 Thruxton 900, picked up from Craigslist with a damaged front end – perfect for a GSX-R front-end swap. To save time, we reached out to Cognito Moto and purchased their Complete GSX-R Front End. If you haven't heard of them, go ahead and check them out.

Custom Seat: Since we no longer make our Cafe Racer Seat with an Integrated Tail Light, we decided to build a custom seat based on the Cafe Racer Seat Pan. We'd love to hear your thoughts and whether we should make this seat available.

Woodcraft Clip-Ons: Once again, we chose Woodcraft Clip Ons and updated the cables, a change needed for the GSX-R front-end swap.

Scrambler Engine Guard

After countless adventures and feedback from our customers, we've developed our own crash bars. Our Engine Guards have been designed to increase the strength and rigidity of the guard, ensuring protection for your bike in the unfortunate event of a fall or tip-over.
