Oregon is home to incredible riding. Back in February the weather was just right in the Clatsop State Forest; a dense forest filled with plenty of twisties and trails for every riding style. After a day at the “World’s Longest Beach,” our good buddies Austin Dixon, Jun Song, and David Chang took to the forest to find the road less traveled. David rode the tough Cafe Racer Deux, a Thruxton, Jun rode the lean Bonneville cafe racer Back to Basics, and Austin rode the Bonneville street tracker, The Tribute. Six wheels and the open road (or trail). No complaints here.
The Tribute proved especially adept at ripping through the forest. The street tracker styled bike was an ideal trailblazer, leading the way into the forest trails. Austin couldn’t help but get the front wheel up in the air; “It doesn’t take much to get that front end off the ground, [The Tribute] has a lot more torque that a stock Bonnie. Lean back, pull up.” This power comes courtesy of the Stage 1 Street Cam Service that was done on the bike. This upgrade boosts the low-end and mid-range torque to unlock the full potential of the Triumph vertical twin powerplant. Combine this upgrade with a free-flowing exhaust and opened up air filtration system (see Air Box Elimination Kit), and you are ready to blaze your own trails. For best results, get yourself a Power Commander V to get your bike tuned up just right for your riding environment.
After exploring the forest trails off Highway 202, Jun and David made their way back to Portland and Austin split off to Castle Rock, WA to meet up with the guys from SEE SEE Racing. Thanks to Poler Stuff for the tent and pack that provided maximum #campvibes. Stay tuned for the next installment of the Adventure Series when we take some laps at the infamous Castle Rock Raceway.
