Triumph Street Twin (2016-2022)

Like its ancestor, the 2016 Street Twin is meant for entry-level and expert riders alike. The streamlined design combines Triumph's legendary silhouette with 21st century improvements.

The 900cc, liquid cooled, parallel twin was designed specifically for this bike, delivering 59 ft/lbs of torque at 3,200 rpms and 55 horsepower at 6000 rpm. This engine bears the “Bonneville” badge and replaces the 2001-2015, 865cc Bonnevilles, while offering 18% more power than the outgoing models. Even with the extra power, the Street Twin is 36% more fuel efficient than its predecessor, which should allow for about a 200 mile range.

The new, dedicated chassis hosts a number of ergonomic changes, resulting in an accessible and neutral riding position. The bike’s overall dry weight is a mere 437lbs(198kgs) making it easy to push around. The seat is low, measuring 29.5 inches(750mm), and narrow where it meets the tank, enabling riders to effortlessly reach the ground. KYB 41mm forks up front, and KYB adjustable rear twin shocks, make for a smooth ride. The 18 inch front and 17 inch rear wheels blend nostalgic style with updated Nissin 2-piston floating caliper brakes.

The sleek, single-dial clock indicates fuel gauge, gear position, trip meter and analog speedometer. From there we also see switchable traction control and ABS, allowing the rider to customize their riding experience with the click of a button. These options come as standard along with a USB charging port. Other electronic revisions include rear LED lights and the ride-by-wire throttle.

The Street Twin has seen a few revisions since its conception in 2016. These revisions took place first in 2019, and again in 2021.
